USCIS Set to Increase Application Fees in 2023

On January 4, 2023, the Department of Homeland Security proposed increasing immigration-related application fees. The proposed rule would increase fees for certain filing types while preserving existing fee waiver eligibility for low-income individuals.

Here is a sample of some of the most common applications and the respective proposed increase:

  • N-400 Naturalization Application
    • Current - $640
    • Proposed - $760
  • I-130 Petition for Alien Relative (paper)
    • Current - $535
    • Proposed - $820
  • I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions
    • Current - $595
    • Proposed - $1,195
  • I-765 Application for Employment Auth
    • Current - $410
    • Proposed - $650
  • I-90 Application to Replace LPR Card
    • Current - $540
    • Proposed - $465
  • I-485 Application for Permanent Residence
    • Current - $1,225
    • Proposed - $2,820 (incl. I-765 and I-131)
  • I-539 Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status
    • Current - $370
    • Proposed - $620
