Lisa D. Ramirez

Partner

Lisa, a daughter of an immigrant mother, was always intrigued with people from other countries and cultures. Ms. Ramirez has traveled extensively throughout Latin America and Europe having spent summers in Italy and Venezuela where she worked in the legal department of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).

Lisa is a California State Bar Immigration and Nationality Law Specialist and notably one of the first women and the first Spanish speaking immigration law specialist in Orange County. Her practice focuses on Department of Homeland Security I-9 investigations and audits, establishing compliance programs for companies, and obtaining various visas for professional athletes, artists, and religious workers. Additionally, she supports family-based immigration through petitions and waivers, naturalization, and removal (deportation) defense in Federal Immigration Court.

Lisa is moved and inspired by the goals and accomplishments of her clients and believes it is a privilege to play a small, yet significant, role in to help immigrants achieve their dreams and goals to the enrichment of this country. While she may not litigate for damages or monetary gain, she accomplishes something far greater and richer – reuniting families, helping businesses thrive and individuals pursue the American dream.

Before co-founding U.S. Immigration Law Group, LLP, Lisa established a solo practice representing individuals through all aspects of the immigration process. She began her legal career serving as the Director of Legal Services and Advocacy for Catholic Charities of Orange County, and served at the Public Law Center, where she developed the legal immigration services program.

Lisa is most proud of her pro bono work on behalf of the poorest and most vulnerable immigrants, and her commitment to educating, empowering, and equipping immigrants with the best information related to immigration law. She is a past president of the Hispanic Bar Association of Orange County and serves on the Hispanic Advisory Commission for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. She is also a board member for Orange County Justice Fund, a non-profit organization that raises funds to help pay bond for individuals in immigration detention who cannot afford them.

Lisa is fluent in Spanish.
